Every girl has had the fantasy that the high school quarterback is going to fall head over heals in love with you. Every girl has once fantasized the possibility that Carrie Underwood’s song, “All American Girl,” will one day become their reality. And then you get older and you begin to listen to songs like “Fifteen,” by Taylor Swift and you begin to realize that in life you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team (creds to the girl herself for that line). So you go through phases of hoping the star athlete of your high school will fall head over heals for you, the girl of his dreams.
So I’m going to tell you my advice for going through crushing on the QB:
- Don’t Obsess.

If you begin to obsess then it’s going to become unhealthy and not okay. When my crush became known to the public aka my family, my dad used to always say, “don’t obsess, just let it happen.” SO DO NOT OBSESS OVER EVERY DETAIL OF HIS LIFE.
- It’s okay that he talks to other girls.

He’s the quarterback, the star football player, it would be kind of strange if you were the only girl swooning over him. The cheerleaders are also probably trying to be more than friends, he’s going to have female friends and THAT’S OKAY. You have to believe in yourself, and maybe even think, is he the one for me?
- Why do you like him?

Do you like him because he’s attractive? Or just simply because he is the star quarterback? Do you like him because everyone else likes him so you don’t want to stand out? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may want to think again. You want to like a person based on how they treat you, you want to like them if they’re nice to you and if they make you smile. If they go out of their way to talk to you. It’s in the little things that he does. Don’t just like a man based off of his title in the school.
- Don’t let him take over your life.
Image above found on: http://www.myvintage.co.uk/blog/2015/05/14/vintage-clothing-trends-fashion-trends-from-the-1920s-1980s/ When you have a crush on someone they usually become your every thought, but don’t let that happen. You need to continue living your life and being with your friends. Don’t change your whole life for this qb because he may not be willing to change his. Don’t always show up to football games, maybe miss one to hang out with your friends, try and keep him on his toes. If he begins to notice your absence it may mean something (my quarterback always got mad at me when I missed a game). My friend also said to me, “Keep your ideals and morals intact even though you would do anything for him.”
- BE YOURSELF!
If you aren’t who you really are when you’re with him, how will he know he likes you? I think even before this step you need to begin to love yourself and you need to begin to see the greatness that you have. Confidence is okay, confidence is great actually. Be sure to love yourself before you start becoming serious with the quarterback of your dreams.

Might as well tell him off on the last day of school. Add that for #6
